English writing skill (chapter 3, group 2)

For this week English Writing Skill class, the chapter is more focus on type of writing. There are four main character in the type of writing. The first type of writing is expository writing. Expository writing's main purpose is to explain. Explain is the writing provide more facts of the object to make sure the audience understand clearly about the object. Expository writing is subject oriented writing skill, which mean that your explanation is base on what the audience ask.

Beside that, the second type of writing is descriptive writing. Descriptive writing's main purpose is to describe something, for an example when you want to describe a character, an events or a place in great detail. Describe something when the audience want more detail of the character, event or place to let then know more about that. After descriptive writing, I would like to introduce persuasive writing. Persuasive writing's main purpose is to convince or persuade your audience. This action is trying to let your audience to trust something or somebody. You also can use persuasive writing's in letter complaint but we need to provide proof to let the audience trust that you are talking the truth. Last but not least, narrative writing is also one of the type of writing. Narrative writing's main purpose is to tell your audience a story. You can use narrative writing in a novel, short stories and history. When your are telling a story, you must always ask yourself "what's next", "how can I catch the audience attention". If the story is interesting, that mean your narrative writing skill are strong.

After the lecture, Ms. Thinessha had showed us two video. One of the video is talk about a translator. The translator is trying to help an American guy and a French girl to communicate. The translator spoil the conversation because she want to broke the relation between the guy and the girl. After that, for the second video is talk about the interval of two different world. The video begin with the LGBT(lesbian gay bisexual transgender) world. In this world, a normal relationship between a guy and a women are unusual relationship. The LGBT group are racist to the normal relation. Even a normal women go into the public toilet also get kick out by the LGBT group person. They feel the normal people are weird. So the normal person suicide because they can't live in LGBT world.

Come to the second part of the video, the world had changed. This relationship between a guy and a women is normal. In this world, the people racist the LGBT people. The LGBT people not even have the right to get into the public toilet. They have no way to survive in this world. At the end of the video, the LGBT people suicide because they have no right to live in this world. After watch the whole video, I have my conclusion and opinion. We have to always respect other people, even though their sexual orientation are different, they are still a human. We must respect other people but not try to racist them because they are different with you. By the way, this video is really meaningful for me. I like this video.
